2. Jalama Beach County Park

Start the day by enjoying sand between your toes, the sun on your face and the soothing sounds of waves breaking on the shore.

From the South: Take Highway 101 north and travel 30 miles past Santa Barbara. Take the Hwy 1 ramp to Lompoc/Vandenberg Air Force Base. Continue on Hwy 1, 13 miles. Turn left onto Jalama Rd. Continue on Jalama Rd. for 14 miles, the road ends at Jalama Beach County Park.

From the North:Take Highway 101 south to Buellton. Exit Hwy 246 and turn right towards Lompoc. Travel 16 miles to Lompoc. Turn left on Hwy 1. Travel 4 miles and turn right onto Jalama Rd. Continue on Jalama Rd. for 14 miles, the road ends at Jalama Beach County Park.

3. La Purísima Mission

Next, step back in time to 1787 and visit La Purísima Mission. The park frequently provides a re-creation of mission life during the 1820's, when the residents engaged in weaving, pottery making, candle making, blacksmithing, animal husbandry, and leatherwork.
