It is with a heavy heart that we announce we will no longer be able to host live music at our establishment.  This decision comes as a direct result of the city of Solvang's new TUP requirement and fee for businesses to host live music.

We are incredibly sorry for any disappointment this may cause.  We have hosted live music here at The Good life EVERY Saturday night for the past 13 years.  We are passionate supporters of live music and our talented local musicians.  We believe in the power of music to bring people together and enhance our community.  We need it now more than ever!

We encourage you to continue supporting live music wherever you can find it in Solvang and beyond.  Businesses that are still hosting live music are doing so by paying significant permit and licensing fees (not just from our own city by through music rights organizations as well), and they deserve our collective support as do our musicians.

If you support live music and are as saddened as we are to have our village fall silent, our busineses penalized and our musicians struggle, we encourage you to reach out to our City Council and let them know how you feel .  Let your voice be heard.  The bigger picture is that our small businesses need support not barriers, not increased fees and not unnecessary restrictions.
